For students who have taken one of Robin's classes, this monthly class offers unique opportunities to expand your Temari expertise. A new project will be introduced each month. Each student must bring at least one ball wrapped following the instructions learned in the introductory class, or let us know in advance to have the teacher bring a wrapped ball for an additional $8.00 fee. The January class covered techniques for stitching spindle shapes. The February class covered techniques for continuous wrapped bands and sequential layering. The March class introduced a pattern that was created with wrapping more than stitching. The April class taught the technique for dividing into sixteenths and also introduced stitching in both North and South hemispheres at the same time. The May class taught the technique for marking a Combination 8 (C-8) division (first wrapped bands, then interwoven triangles superimposed on top of the bands). The June class taught a pattern that featured eight dragonflies swirling around in all directions. The July class was a make-up session for students who missed an earlier class or who needed help finishing a project previously begun in class. The August class featured a pretty and versatile patttern that taught the basic "Kiku" stitch. The September class features the 16 point chrysanthemum (Kiku) as perhaps the quintessential temari design. See a picture of typical finished class pieces for the September class.
